It depends on the guinea pigs.
Usually they get along fine after they get to know each other.
But at first they might fight just a little, they probably won’t hurt each other.
Get the newcomer her own cage.
Maybe they’d like to share a cage after a few weeks, but at first, don’t expect them to be comfortable.
How would you feel if a stranger showed up at your house and expected to sleep in your bed with you?
The surviving guinea pig should be fine alone. You do have to spend lots more time with her, but they do OK alone. The happiest guinea pigs have guinea pig friends.
well i use to have them before you should take both girls one person hold one and another hold the other guinnea pig see how they are but if they start fight then you cant put them together but if you want no chases then i say DONT PUT THEM TOGETHER.
It’s awonderful idea to get another pig for your little girl!! Please adopt from a shelter or rescue. You’ll need to quaratine any new pig for 3 weeks to make sure there are no hidden illnesses.
I am not forsure on girl ones. But we have 3 males and all of them live in the same cage. 2 of them we got at the same time. They have been together all there lives. And we got the thrid one from some one who did not went theres any more. We let them get to know each other at frist. We have a pin out side for ours in the summer time and they could meet as they please. We have know trouble here so give it a try.Guineas are easy to care for just as long as you keep the same sex together.
I think they will fight. Best to have two cages, even if they are close together. Make sure the food is fresh, stale food loses the vitamins that are so important for guinea pigs.
I am sure that it will be fine. But, I would recommend that you talk to the breeder, animal shelter, rescue group, or, the pet store on how to properly introduce the two guinea pigs. Also, they will be glad to answer any additional questions that you have! I hope that this helps! Thanks, and good luck,
When I was little, my sister always had a pair of female guinea pigs, and they did come from different litters. When one died, she always got another one and they were fine. Over the years she had 4 different couples. I would say if your guinea pig is used to a buddy, I would say she would be happier if you get her another cage mate. I am sorry to hear about your loss.
Guinea pigs will NOT kill each other. Getting another girl is highly recommended but do not put them in the same cage straight away. You need to properly introduce them, a neutral area like a couch works best. This site might help;
They won’t die of depression as such rather from not eating and drinking due to depression, so you will have to monitor her intake of liquids and solids. I would defiantly recommend getting another girl.

Then read these too for other stuff. Especially guineapigcages.com. Those cages are really important for a guinea pig to have.
